Light & Graphite Drawings

By making a drawing that is timed to match the extended exposure of a pinhole photograph I am investigating the differences between the way a mechanical and subjective eye records and responds to the same sculpture.

The available light and choice of film establishes the duration of both the exposure and the drawing and then the drawing determines the scale of the final photographic print.

Distance from and proximity to the subject is resolved by where I can position myself and the camera safely as no tripods are allowed in the British Museum or Louvre. I have tried to adopt the same viewpoint as the camera whilst I draw, wherever possible.
