48 Storey's Way - The Book This further collection of images draws attention to the light sources within the house and the multitude of still life compositions encountered along the way. Evidence of the families lives is ever present and the details of habitation and play resonate joyfully through the objects and scenarios observed. The many windows that offer good light remind us of the garden outside and the wonderful continuity between interior and exterior space. The horizontal axis of the house is balanced by the long vista that runs along the garden path from the front entrance gate, through the hallway and living room and out to the bisected lawns and spring garden, under the rose arbour to the vegetable plot beyond. All the harmony that Baillie Scott sought to create is carefully treasured and yet they continue to develop their home with sensitivity to his spirit of individuality and craftsmanship. |
